Whether you’re working at your desk, somewhere along your daily commute or sweating it out at the gym, everything is better when you have a soundtrack. Smartphone apps are a godsend when you have to be mobile, but they have one small problem: Most of these music apps require WiFi or a 4G/LTE network to stream your latest jams. Sometimes you don’t have access to the interwebs, like if you’re stuck in an elevator or in a tube underground. Here’s a roundup of seven kickass connection-free music apps that won’t kill your vibe.
1. Spotify Premium: Not to state the obvious here, but when it comes to music apps Spotify is hard to beat. Yes, there is a monthly subscription fee, but if you truly love taking your music with you wherever you go then the price is worth it. Admittedly you can’t rock out to Taylor Swift, but Spotify has one of the most comprehensive music libraries out there.

2. Evermusic: Evermusic is a music aggregating app that allows you to download your songs and keep them together in one easy-to-use app. You can access the music that’s saved on your Google Drive, Dropbox and directly within the app, so you’ll always have your tunes.

3. Musify: Another handy music management app, Musify lets you save all your songs in one place. The app allows you to shuffle and create custom playlists – plus, it can divvy up your music by country as well. Time to get to listening worldwide.

4. Google Play Music: Aside from having a pretty awesome radio feature, Google Play Music allows you to store up to 50,000 songs. You can listen to whatever you want wherever you want. The app also allows you to go cross platform so you can access your music from your computer too.

5. Sound Weaver: Sound Weaver gives you access to all your music from Dropbox to Soundcloud. This music aggregating app also has one particularly cool feature. Aside from being aesthetically appealing and super user friendly, Sound Weaver allows you to store music videos from YouTube so you can listen AND watch. BOOM.

6. Apple Music: We can’t talk about music apps without mentioning one of the rising stars: Apple Music. Sure, it only launched June 30 of last year, but it’s quickly become a serious competitor against music streaming giants like Spotify. It’s easy to see why — not only does it have access to essentially the entire iTunes library, it also has T.Swift.
DL It: $9.99 on iOS and Android
7. Spinrilla Pro: If you can’t live without hip-hop, Spinrilla is the app you’ve been waiting for. The app gives you access to all the newest hip-hop mix tapes from your fave artists, DJs and producers. You could listen for free online, but for a just $0.99 a month, you can download the mix tapes for offline listening too.

Mobile music apps are a great way to listen to your favorites tunes on the go, but many require access to Wi-Fi — unless you're willing to sacrifice your precious data allowance. That said, there are apps that let you listen to music without Wi-Fi access so you can jam out to your favorite songs wherever you are, whether that's underground or in flight. Below are four of the best:
Evermusic
Looking for a way to compile your own personal music stash? Evermusic is the app for you. It lets you aggregate music from various locations, including Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive, and curate your own music library. Users can also download songs, playlists and albums for offline playback with this free app, which is only available for iOS devices.
Spinrilla
Hip-hop enthusiasts can get access to thousands of mixtapes from their favorite artists and DJs with Spinrilla. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, features an offline mode that allows users to listen to mixtapes without internet access. The app also features a radio function where users can discover new artists and a social component where they can follow their favorite artists. Spinrilla Pro is available for an additional monthly subscription cost.
Google Play Music
The Google Play Music app provides access to millions of songs. The free version of the app (available for iOS and Android) gives users in the U.S. and Canada radio stations based on songs, offers recommendations based on their musical tastes and store and stream up to 50,000 songs from their personal collection. With a subscription, users can listen to music offline, remove ads and receive on-demand access to tens of millions of songs.

Logging into a premium subscription in the Spotify app — available for iOS and Android — offers ad-free music so there will be no interruptions, better sound quality and the option to download music and listen to it offline.
Pandora

Pandora users can use the app's 'Offline Listening' feature, which is available to Pandora Plus subscribers. The feature only works for mobile phones and cannot be used on tablets or iPads. Pandora won't give users access to all their stations. Instead, it will download up to three of the user's most-listened stations when the device is connected to Wi-Fi.
