-Mac Mini installed iTunes 5.0 without a problem.
-Was able to browse and buy from the iTMS.
-Able to play the purchased music from iTunes
-Can create playlists and transfer new music to them. Icons change and list highlighted as normal when dragging and dropping.
-Can (and have) burned 'backup' playlist of purchased music and these play fine, albeit with tag info missing of course.
but...
-can not transfer to the iPod. Icon only shows number of files being dragged, but won't highlight the iPod.

I can't find any way to download all my purchased songs at once.
Feb 8, 2015 - The method already suggested is limited to downloading 250 songs at a time. The Purchased page in the iTunes Store isn't the place to. I just downloaded itunes5 and already my blood is boiling. After i dowloaded itunes' new version, i purchased some music in itunes music store. I then connected my ipod(20g with dock connector) and tried to drag the purchased songs into my ipod, but it wouldn't let me.
I have a list of 100+ albums, so clicking on Downlod for each album is not viable.
I was hoping to show Account -> Purchased -> Not in my library. and select all albums and then download all at once, but I'm out of ideas.
Is this possible?

You can download an entire playlist with one click.
I just noticed that In your library: You can sort your music by 'in the cloud' (the cloud logo). When you add the music which is only in the cloud to a playlist, iTunes will automatically download your added songs :-)
